Spalmatore Beach

Located along the north-eastern coast of the main island, Cala Spalmatore is one of the most frequented beaches, above all because, thanks to its shape, it is sheltered from practically all winds.
Once you arrive, your gaze will immediately be captured by a wide, bright bay divided into two parts by a long, characteristic granite pier reaching out towards the sea. Once a fishermen’s landing, today it is one of the most photographed symbols of the cove. This very pier divides the two beaches of Spalmatore, both of which share the same golden sand and the same transparency of the water.

How to reach Spalmatore

To reach the beach you must follow the panoramic road that loops around the island and reach the Spalmatore locality following the road signs. You can use the following means:

Private car or scooter (free parking available);
Bicycle: a feasible route but with some uphill stretches;

Local summer bus service with stops nearby (check the timetable here, Case Ornano line, summer period).

Facilities
Despite its wild and natural appearance, Cala Spalmatore is surprisingly well equipped, offering everything you need for a comfortable day at the sea.

The main beach has a proper equipped lido where you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds. For a quick meal or a refreshing drink, you will find a bar/kiosk right in front of the pier.

It is worth noting that the small beach has a beach access with a concrete ramp, which allows you to reach the shore even with wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Park protection and regulations

Remember that the National Park regulates the use of the territory; here you will find all the necessary information!

Conclusion

Easily reachable, safe for children and sheltered from all winds, this beach will be one of the unmissable destinations on your itinerary. But Spalmatore is not only safety and comfort; indeed it is one of those beaches that manages to enchant you thanks to its shape and authenticity. During dawn and sunset the surrounding rocks change colour and form incredible contrasts with the blue of the sea.

Add it to your itinerary, you will not regret it!
