La Maddalena does not go into hibernation when the sun sets. It is a lively island, filling with music, theatre and people in the streets.

Concerts under the stars, theatre shows, open-air cinema in the squares, the colourful Carnival parades, festivals, food fairs and village feasts: the archipelago has a packed calendar, made of large and small events that tell the story of the community even more than the sea. Among them all stands out La Valigia dell’Attore, the film festival dedicated to Gian Maria Volonté, which every summer brings actors, directors and enthusiasts from all over Italy to the island.
