An Experience Without Barriers
Imagine gliding over the crystal-clear waters of the Archipelago, surrounded by unspoilt nature, with a sense of absolute freedom. Now imagine this emotion being accessible to anyone, regardless of age or physical ability.
In La Maddalena, water skiing is not just a summer sport: it is an experience of inclusion, courage and joy, guided by an exceptional master: Gianfranco “Jeff” Onorato.
Multiple world champion of Paralympic water skiing and named in 2026 Commendatore della Repubblica by President Mattarella, Jeff is an institution of La Maddalena. After a serious accident in his youth that made him lose the use of an arm and partially of a leg, Jeff did not give up. He learned to ski again, won international gold medals and turned his story into a mission: to use the sea and sport to break down every barrier.
A Sea of Inclusivity
Jeff’s school (operating near the bridge to Caprera) is a national centre of excellence for inclusive sport. Here, disability, be it motor, sensory or cognitive, is not a limit, but a starting point.
The school is the ideal environment for families who wish to share an unforgettable adventure during their holidays in Sardinia.
“The smallest of things accomplished counts more than the greatest project declared.”
Jeff Onorato
